Why are a lot of FIRE articles a load of BS?

Crucial bits of detail that paint a more realistic picture of the retire early movement

FIRE is great. I love the idea, it’s super motivational. If I work hard and spend extremely frugally for just a few more years I can submit my last timesheet, hang up my hardhat, power down my laptop or whatever for the last time and live free from the shackles of work for the rest of my many days.
